Congratulations to Tony Murata, the AZMagicPlayers.com 2014 Legacy Series Champion! He navigated 12Post expertly throughout the field of 50 players and ended up facing his Round 1 opponent, Paul Cuillier, in the finals. Paul locked him out in game one with a quick Counterbalance/Top/Jace the Mind Sculptor combination, but Tony rallied in games two and three to take the match!
We also crowned another victor today – the Player of the Year. Congratulations to Alex Tamblyn, who posted a grand total of 42 points throughout the series.
We had a great Legacy Series, spanning over nine months with ten events. We visited Tucson, Phoenix, and Flagstaff, visited seven different stores, and gave out over $2000 in Legacy staples over the course of the series (not including the thousands in store credit that was also awarded to top finishers!). If you had told us nine months that we were going to average 43 players at our events, there is no way we would have believed you. If you had told us nine months ago that Legacy was dying, we weren’t exactly going to disagree . But we believe the Series has proven that Legacy is alive and well.
We don’t have any formal plans yet, but we do want to run another Legacy Series. Thank you to every one of you that attended our Legacy Series, even if it was just one!
Let’s not forget though, this weekend did not belong to us, it belonged to Tony Murata, your AZMagicPlayers.com 2014 Legacy Series Champion!
