We come ever closer to the Legacy Series Masters, and this weekend did not fail to tighten up the race. Both a Spotlight Event at Crusaders’ Retreat and Summer Classic at ManaWerx were held, so a hefty amount of Legacy Series Points were dished out.
If the cut for the Legacy Series Masters on September 5th was made today, all players with 14 points or more would qualify. Since our last Summer Classic in June, Josh Granado has fallen out of the Top 16 and Matthew Shaffer has taken his place. Matthew Shaffer’s strong finishes in July’s Spotlight Events have no doubt been the factor in this change.
With the Legacy Summer Championship awarding twice the amount of points than normal Summer Classic point distribution (20 points to 1st place versus 10 for 1st place, 16 points to 2nd place versus 8 for 2nd place, etc), the race isn’t anywhere near over yet.
Let’s go over how to qualify for the invite-only Legacy Series Masters at Play or Draw on September 5th:
- The winner of the Legacy Summer Championship at Desert Sky Games on August 15th – this event is open to all!
- Get three Top 8s at Legacy Classic or Championships (both Spring & Summer Top 8s count)
- Finish in the Top 16 of the Points Leaderboard – all players tied for 16th will earn the qualification as well.
The following players have two Top 8s and can earn an automatic bid by Top 8’ing the Legacy Summer Championship! Of course, these players can still squeak in if they have enough points.
