Over the past two years, we’ve received tremendous support from the Arizona Magic: the Gathering community for our Legacy Series. Today, we’re happy to announce the 2016 Legacy Series!

We’ve outlined the Legacy Series below but check out our minisite in the menu for the full details.

The City Championships

The main event of the 2016 Legacy Series will be the City Championships! We’ll see four City Championships throughout the 2016 Legacy Series.

The first two City Championships will be as follows:

Gilbert City Championships – January 9th, hosted by Desert Sky Games
Avondale City Championships – March 19th, hosted by Play or Draw

Tempe and Tucson will be the locations of the other two City Championships, but the dates will be announced later.

Here are the details for the City Championships:

Registration: 10am
Tournament Start: 11am
Entry: $30
Format: Legacy
REL: Regular

City Championships are open to all players! As always, decklists will be required. City Championship prize payouts will be determined by attendance and distributed in store credit.

Legacy Series Trials

Spotlight Events are back in the form of Legacy Series Trials. These will be three or four round events spread out throughout the week. We will be announcing the dates for these events at a later time.

The 2016 Legacy Series Masters

In 2015, we saw Kyle Henriksen take down Arizona’s best with Miracles. Last year, we saw Tony Murata annihilate the competition with 12-Post! This year, we look for another competitor to join these prestigious ranks – or even see a repeat winner!

The 2016 Legacy Series Masters will be even more exclusive to qualify for – just sixteen slots are open! Here are the players that will qualify:

The Top 2 Players via 2016 Legacy Series Points earned only at City Championships
